Scoping, Dentistry and Surgery Vet Crushes
Scoping Yearlings is one of the most dangerous jobs for horse, handler and vet.
8 years ago I delveloped along with vets Australia’s first scoping crushes.
My scoping vet crushes are now proven Australia wide. Sale companies Magic Millions have 5 and William Inglis have 3. Between both companies they sell over 5000 yearlings per year and 400 million worth of yearlings. Combine those numbers along with Arrowfield Stud, Yarraman Park, Bhima Stud, Tyreel Stud, Fairview Park, Mill Park, Newgate Farm and REC veterinary practice just to name a few.
The crushes are designed especially to help keep the yearlings safe and not stressed. The sides are padded 50 mm thick and the sides in areas are sloped. The crushes are designed to be very solid but also flex in the right areas for if a yearling does ‘go off’. There is a quick release gate as well and everything has been designed for horse and handler safety.
Dentistry Vet Crushes are designed to make dentistry easy. The top pole is adjustable in and out. It can have a side pulley as well to lift the horses head up. I also offer a fully adjustable side for procedures like scanning, x-rays and standing surgeries.
